Pink satin, disintegrated to dust.
Hips bedecked with stretch marks;
Joints frozen with rust.
Elasticity gone, tendons strain;
Ligaments snap, and in sets the pain.
Pain once a nuisance that threatened every move;
Is now the driving force behind all that you do.
Nobody bleeds for the dancer.
